Railway Rules for Online Ticket Booking: Millions of people travel by train in India every day. For the convenience of these passengers, the Railways operates thousands of trains, and ticket booking is handled through the IRCTC website and mobile app. Many people book tickets at railway counters, while others book online.
These days, the number of people booking tickets online is increasing significantly, and fraudulent transactions are often seen. Therefore, the Railways has now made some changes to the online ticket booking process and announced the implementation of new rules. Find out what the new rule is and when it will be implemented.
Only these people will be able to book between 8 am and 8:15 am.
Indian Railways recently implemented a new rule regarding Aadhaar authentication. In July, Aadhaar authentication was made mandatory for Tatkal users. Now, the Railways is introducing another rule. According to this new rule, only passengers with complete Aadhaar authentication will be able to book tickets between 8 am and 8:15 am.
This rule will be applicable on both the IRCTC's official website and mobile app. This means that only accounts linked to Aadhaar will be active during this time slot. Those who have not linked their accounts to Aadhaar will not be allowed to book tickets during this 15-minute period.
When will this rule be implemented?
Many people are now wondering: Has the Railways implemented this rule? It's not yet implemented. For now, passengers can book tickets as usual. However, this new system will be implemented from October 1, 2025.
If someone books a lot of tickets, they must link their IRCTC account with Aadhaar to avoid any problems after the new rules come into effect.
