Thudarum is expected to take a decent start at the box office

Mohanlal is in the limelight because of his latest film Thudarum, which hit the screens today. It was originally slated to arrive in theatres in January but got postponed. According to Manobala Vijayabalan, a trade analyst, Thudarum is likely to collect between Rs 5 crore to Rs 7 crore worldwide on the first day. He feels that the buzz surrounding the film does not do justice to Lalettan’s stardom.

“Thudarum is expected to take ₹5 cr to ₹7 cr opening. The buzz is low as of now with fewer shows scheduled for a Mohanlal starrer. If the film clicks well with the audience, then it can mint more in the coming days,” he told Indiatimes

This is Mohanlal’s first release after L2 Empuraan, which hit the screens last month and opened to a good response at the box office despite receiving mediocre reviews. It collected Rs 62 crore globally on a budget of Rs 180 crore.
