Dianne Buswell makes sweet nod to baby boy in first Strictly glimpse after pregnancy news

Strictly Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell has delighted fans as she posed in a stunning promotional picture ahead of tonight's launch show – days after announcing her pregnancy.

Dianne, 36, announced earlier this week that she and boyfriend Joe Sugg were expecting their first child together. The couple took to Instagram on Sunday evening to announce that they were expecting a boy. As Joe said: "Our little baby boy, we cannot wait to meet you".

Now, days after the news which delighted Strictly Come Dancing fans ahead of the BBC's show's epic launch tonight, Dianne has made a sweet nod to her baby boy.

In a promotional shot of herself turned with her back to the camera, Dianne is sporting a sparkling silver dress with blue tassels. She accessorised the look with a silver choker and blue and silver drop earrings, as well as blue eyeliner – which some fans have suspected is a sweet nod to her unborn baby boy.

Dianne posted the photo on her Instagram and wrote in the caption: "There she goes again officially about to kick of my 9th season

"Strictly launch show is on tonight 18.40 @bbcone @bbcstrictly who’s tuning in @jessieefromtheblock".

Fellow Strictly pros and fans were quick to gush over Dianne and her recent baby news in the comments. Amy Dowden, who is set to return again this year, wrote: "a very special pic xxxx".

Dianne and Joe, who have been together since 2018, revealed their pregnancy news in a playful Instagram video last week.

The couple filmed themselves painting on a canvas before turning it around to unveil a doodle of two stick figures holding the hands of a smaller stick figure, along with the year 2026.

The video was soundtracked by Elton John’s Tiny Dancer, and ended with Joe saying: "Our little baby boy. We cannot wait to meet you."

The couple were flooded by an outpouring of love after their announcement. Joe’s brother-in-law Alfie Deyes wrote: "Sooo excited for you both! The family is growinggg," while Stacey Dooley added: "YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES."

Strictly judges Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse also sent their congratulations. Dianne and Joe first met when they were paired together during the 2018 series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Their chemistry quickly caught viewers’ attention, and after the series ended, the pair confirmed they were officially dating. At the time Joe gushed: "I may not have won the glitter ball, but I’ve won something a million times more special."

The couple went on to build a beautiful life together, buying their first home in 2021 and frequently sharing loved-up moments with their extended family.

Dianne has always spoken openly about her hopes for motherhood. She previously told Closer magazine: "I think definitely at one point we'll have children. It's something we'd both love."
