EastEnders fans 'work out' who Zoe's working with - and it's not Max

Fans think Zoe Slater could be working for or with some familiar faces on EastEnders.

But amid a connection to Max Branning being confirmed, it isn't him that fans think Zoe is tied up with in a drug twist. Zoe was revealed to owe someone money and kept claiming people were after her.

But despite this possibly being cleared up in flashbacks on Thursday, fans are convinced there is more to be revealed. It was the constant references to Ibiza and her recent dash Barcelona that left fans wondering if she was linked to some other characters.

Now, a theory is that Zoe is linked to Ravi Gulati and maybe even Nicola Mitchell following their drugs drama recently. So is Zoe involved with their dodgy dealings?

Fans certainly think so, taking to social media to share their theories. One fan said: "I think Zoe is the one that is behind the drugs thing with Ravi to get money to look for her son?"

Another fan theorised: "I'm convinced he's part of Ravi's drug storyline," while a third fan recalled Nicola mentioning Ibiza recently. On Thursday we found out how Zoe met Max, and who she may have been running from.

In a flashback episode, we learnt that the pair met in a bar just one year ago. The pair then went on to build a relationship, with Zoe confiding in him about her twins.

Zoe revealed that she wanted to get back in contact with her son, after regretting abandoning him in the hospital when he was born. Max stayed by her side, even lending her £5000 to pass over to her son's foster parents' old neighbour, who a private investigator had tracked down.

However, things took a sinister turn when Zoe entered the flat, with her son's foster parents' old neighbour refusing to give her any information. She handed over the money, but the neighbour wasn't having any of it, as he demanded more and refused to cooperate.

A desperate Zoe was left in tears, telling the neighbour she'd changed, as he bit back: "How? You abandoned your son. Didn't even leave a note.

How are you going to make up for that?" He then attempted to sexually assault her, as Zoe struck him with a lamp.

She then ran out to Max's car, fearing she had murdered him. So was this the person Zoe was talking about when she told Kat "he's still alive", with them under the impression it was this person who shot her? Viewers will have to wait and see!
