With lip fillers and injectables becoming less and less popular, more people are turning to non-injectable treatments that can provide effective results. Lip plumping products became a huge deal back in the 2000s, and have remained popular thanks to celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian promoting the trend of fuller-looking lips.
However, with many formulated with ingredients such as chili peppers, menthol and even bee venom, which results in that painful stinging sensation, they are more than likely damaging your lips over time.
Luckily, French skincare brand RoC has just launched their Derm Correxion Lip Volumiser, £29.99, that promises plumped lips that stay volumised overtime, and I tested it out to see if it lived up to what is promised.
The Volumiser has been developed with dermatologists and plastic surgeons to be a non-invasive topical lip treatment that gives you both instant and long-term volume. Inspired by lip injections, the formula plumps and boosts the natural lip without the needles.

RoC Derm Correxion Lip Volumiser reviewI've never been too hung up on how my lips look. They’re not particularly big, but not quite small enough, in my opinion, to justify getting lip fillers. That said, I’ve always been intrigued by non-surgical lip plumpers as I love the idea of something temporary over anything more semi-permanent.
And for me RoC's Volumiser has changed the game. I'm past the days of trying chili or venom to plump, and I love that RoC's offering is packed full of ingredients that actually benefit your lips. Featuring 10% Hyaluronic Acid Filling Spheres, this treatment boosted the volume of my lips, while keeping them hydrated and moisturised for hours.
What I really love is that thePro-Collagen Peptideworks to smooth and subtly reshape the contours of your lips over time. So not only do you get an instant plumping effect, but you’re also supporting longer-term improvement in volume and definition.
Thanks to the cooling tip, there’s a mild tingling sensation when you first apply it but nothing harsh or painful like other plumpers I’ve tried. It just feels like the formula is kicking into action.
I also appreciate that it didn't turn my lips bright red and sore-looking, and instead just enhanced their natural colour, which aids in that fuller-looking pout.
I've never tried lip fillers, and I'm not sure this can completely replace them, especially considering the plumping effect is fairly mild. But if, like me, you’ve always been hesitant about injectables, or you’ve recently had your filler dissolved and are looking for a subtle boost, this is definitely worth the investment.
Overall, I love seeing a visible difference in lip plumpness just three minutes after applying. And the natural flush it brings out means I can skip lip liner and lipstick entirely. A total win.
Another one of my favourite lip-boosting products is Uncensored Lip Plumping Gloss from Il Makiage, which adds a flush of colour as well as plumps.
And our head of shopping, Zoe, loves Charlotte Tilbury's Lip Cheat Contour Duo, a genius double-ended pencil that’s basically your shortcut to a fuller-looking pout.
