Fans of Coronation Street are predicting a huge pregnancy twist on the ITV cobbles, after David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) found a positive pregnancy test in the rubbish. While he found the test in their own bins, the dad had a theory that it may have come from their neighbours, the Swains.
On Monday's episode, he suggested a theory - he was adamant that the test belonged to Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) after he discovered that Carla (Alison King) had been discarding rubbish in his bin. Confiding in his sister Sarah (Tina O'Brien), he told her that he was sure it's Betsy's and was absolutely gleeful. But earlier in the episode, Lily complained to David about a stomach ache, with him dismissing her concerns and sending her off to school. Later, he expressed his frustration to Sarah about Lily's squabbles over a boy and attempts to play truant from school, which left Sarah worried before she pointed out that the test could be his own daughters.
David's glee quickly turned to horror over the realisation that his teenage daughter could be pregnant. However, later on, Sarah told Shona (Julia Goulding) about David finding the test and she turned a whiter shade of pale - leading fans to a brand new theory.
Posting to X (formerly Twitter), one fan suggested: "Looks like Shona is pregnant then [eyeball emoji] #Corrie." Another echoed: "Could be Shona's pregnancy test #Corrie."
One more added: "Why are they assuming it belongs to Swarla/Betsy/Lily as opposed to SHONA!? Surely she's a far more logical person to assume? #Corrie #Swarla."
Elsewhere in the soap, Betsy's 18th birthday was thrown into chaos with one beloved character's life hanging in the balance.
The teenager left a voice message for Dylan and another for Lisa, but before she could finish, there was a loud crash as a stolen car hit something, leaving the youngster screaming in fright.
Much to Weatherfield's horror, the person hit by the car was actually Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) and he was rushed to hospital in a serious condition. But will he survive? And who was behind the wheel?
