
A popular supermarket chain has issued a for packs of sausages over fears they contain small pieces of plastic. The notice applies to The Best 6 Thick Cumberland Sausages.
The sausages come in a 400g pack with the use-by date May 1, 2025. A notice issued online said: "Morrisons is recalling the above product with Use By 01 May because there is a risk that some packs may contain small pieces of blue plastic.
"Please do not eat this product and return it to your nearest store for a full refund. We don't need a receipt."
Although plastic is typically used to package ready meals, some types contain chemicals that can contaminate food when heated.
They may also present a choking hazard, particularly for small children.
The recall notice added: "No other products are affected by this issue.
"We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety."
A similar recall was issued last month for .
Customers were warned the lasagnes may contain "hard pieces of plastic, making it unsafe to eat".
