Our Yorkshire Farm star Reuben Owen has looked to the future as he admits he doesn't fancy a career in TV. Reuben rose to fame alongside his eight siblings and their parents, Amanda and Clive Owen, on the Channel 4 series.
Since the show ended, Reuben has branched out on his own with his Channel 5 series, Life in the Dales. The programme's second series, which recently ended, shows Reuben and his friends as he looks to grow his machinery business.
Reuben also appears in another show with his family, Our Farm Next Door, in which the Owen family renovates a rundown farmhouse called Anty John's.
However, in a recent interview with the Telegraph, Reuben opened up about his future on television. While he loves showing his fans what he gets up to on screen, Reuben also confessed he wants to be known "as the guy who digs holes."
He said, "I don't have the time or the inclination to scroll through social media.
"If you do ever see me on my phone, I'll be searching for machinery sales."
He added: "I don't want a career on television, I want to be known as the guy who digs big holes; my current ambition is to buy a 50-ton excavator. Now that really would be the realisation of a dream."
At the end of Life in the Dales, the young farmer, who lives with his family at Ravenseat Farm, made an admission about leaving.
He shared: "It's been a hectic time. Three years in business, I'm 21 now. We've got plenty of diggers, plenty of work on, couple of bunch of team and staff on with me, got Jess [his girlfriend] with me, who's an absolute star.
"Think the next thing we need to think about is getting somewhere a bit better to keep all these machines, and hopefully somewhere for me to live as well."
"That's the dream next. Get myself a yard and a house. We'll have to see what the future holds," he added.
Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales is available to watch on My5.
