Ryanair passengers could be hit with a hefty fee if they fail to print their boarding passes for flights in three specific countries. The airline has announced that digital boarding passes won't be accepted in these nations.

It is despite plans to introduce a digital-only system from November to cut costs and reduce its carbon footprint. However, some don't support these types of passes, meaning customers must print their passes if they want to fly from certain in Turkey, Morocco, and , according to LaSexta.

Despite around 80 percent of passengers already opting for the digital system, those who continue to print their passes have been warned that the system will be in place on November 3, excluding those three specific nations.

According to the Ryanair website, the low-cost carrier accepts digital passes on flights from most airports across its network, but there are exceptions in (except Dalaman airport), , and Tirana in Albania (only when passengers are travelling to the UK).

Ryanair reiterated that passengers journeying from these airports have to check in online and ensure they print a paper boarding pass if they want to fly.

However, those who do not have access to a printer may face additional charges at the check-in desk.

The airline has stated that customers can access their boarding passes via the Ryanair app once they have checked in, eliminating the need for a printed pass, unless they are flying from certain airports, such as those in Morocco, Tirana when flying to the UK, and Turkey (excluding Dalaman airport).

If passengers require a printed boarding pass, they can obtain one at the check-in desk, but will be charged a reissue fee of €/£20 per passenger.

Ryanair CMO Dara Brady previously spoke about the transition to paperless boarding passes, stating: "Ryanair is Europe's No.1 airline for choice, low fares, and customer service."

He added: "This move to 100% paperless boarding passes from November 2025 will allow us to deliver an enhanced travel experience for customers, streamlined through the myRyanair app during our less busy Winter schedule.

"This will be particularly useful to passengers during disruptions as it will facilitate real-time updates from our Ops Centre directly to passengers' phones, and will also provide them with alternative flight options, and offer transfers or hotel accommodation options when necessary."
