Appeals have been launched for information about British tourist who vanished in the early hours of Saturday morning in Edinburgh University history student Gregor Thomson, 21, disappeared during a weekend trip less than a full day after arriving in the with rugby club teammates.
Friends and relatives have said Gregor's last-known location was Diverzo Cocktail Bar, with one pal saying he headed back towards the venue on his own after forgetting something there. Appeals put his height at between 6'1 and 6'2 2/3, and he is described as having an athletic build and dark hair.
Today his dad Murray, from Edinburgh, said the family are "extremely worried" and urged people with information to come forward, reports.
"No one's heard from Gregor since the early hours of Saturday morning and we're obviously all extremely worried", he said, as per the outlet.
"He had only arrived in Madrid around 9.30am on Friday with rugby teammates for a weekend away," Murray continued.
He said: "We've been told he became separated from them in a bar called Diverzo Cocktail Bar. They'd obviously had a few drinks so things are a little bit hazy but the people he was with say he wasn't talking to anyone else or doing anything out of the ordinary that might explain a disappearance like this.
"My son is a sensible lad and he's never gone missing like this before. The police are involved and are doing everything they can including trying to get hold of CCTV in the area where he was last seen for clues."
He added: "Gregor was staying in a hostel with the other lads who are also helping out as much as they can. His phone is dead and we don't know if he still has it with him. He had his wallet on him. They are all due to fly back home tomorrow around lunchtime.
"I urge anyone with any information about my son to please contact the authorities as soon as possible. We're just praying for good news," he added.

Gregor's friend Liv Anderson had previously shared an urgent appeal on Facebook too, writing that Gregor had been "with his teammates at the bar" and that they "all left together".
"However he returned to the bar on his own to retrieve something he had left," she added. "He has not been seen since then.
"His teammates and captain had been at the police station yesterday (Sat 26th), and the police officially named him as a missing person last night.
"His phone is dead (most likely) and we don't know if he has ID on him or knows exactly where he is, as it was their first day and he does not know Madrid.
"If anyone has seen him or has any information please reach out immediately. Please share this if you can, to help spread the word. Call 112 for police."
She described the Brit as being "6ft1 with an athletic, solid build and brown hair".
Live also posted a screengrab of Gregor's last known location on map, and another showing where he was staying, as reported by .
Gregor's cousin Amy Hood said in social post that he "has been missing since around 1:30am on Saturday the 26th of April".
"His last known location was Diverzo Cocktail Bar, Calle de Gravina Cocktail Bar, 4 Madrid. Gregor was on holiday with his rugby friends and was separated from the group. He is 21 years old, 6ft 2/3 with dark hair."
She also shared a picture of what Gregor was wearing on the night, showing him with a light-coloured shirt and shorts, white socks and trainers.
