Dust loves to stick to so many areas around the home like on top of windowsills, on blinds, skirting boards and of course on wooden floors. While there are a wide range of floor cleaners dedicated to hardwood flooring, the thing you need may just be hiding in your kitchen cupboards.
Cleaning experts at All Kleen have recommended households use black tea on their wooden floors to revive and clean them. They said: "In addition to being a comforting and refreshing drink for your body, black tea can also refresh and even clean your hardwood floors." They explained that the tannins in black tea act as a light and warm stain that brings the natural warm tones out of your hardwood flooring.

The tannins are acidic so it can effortlessly cut through grime, dust and grease and prevent an accumulation of it all for longer.
For this method you'll need about eight to 10 tea bags and of course the more you add the more intense the colour of the stain will be.
For darker floors use eight to 10 tea bags, then for lighter floors, use 10 to 12. If you test the tea and and decide it is too dark, you can lighten it by adding more water.
Before mopping, vacuum or sweep the floors to remove most of the dust and dirt. Then bring half a gallon of water to the boil and steep the tea bags in the hot water for 10 to 15 minutes.
After, remove the tea bags, making sure to press all the remaining liquid into the water before throwing the tea bag out.
Next, let the tea cool down to a lukewarm temperature and pour it into a bucket. Test out the tea on a hidden part of flooring to see if you are happy with the results.
When mopping the floor with the tea, make sure to ring the mop out well and move in the direction of the woodgrain.
Once applied to the entire floor, let it dry and enjoy your newly refreshed and shiny wooden flooring.
