An imminent Call of Duty update will seemingly address a big problem that has been plaguing the game for quite some time.
According to a new report, the next update for Call of Duty on PS5 will reduce the HQ file size by a staggering 101GB.
With Call of Duty and its various game modes (including Warzone) taking up enormous amounts of storage space, the update will be well received by fans, especially with a busy period of new releases on the horizon.
As you can see from the ModernWarzone tweet above, the update will reduce the Call of Duty HQ file size from 126GB to just 25GB.
PS4 users will also benefit from a reduction, with the update reducing the file size by a less impressive 19GB.
This means Call of Duty HQ on PS4 will be reduced from 81GB to 62GB in total.
Fans in the comments seem pretty happy by the news, calling it a "huge" announcement and suggesting that publisher Activision is scared of Battlefield 6.
One user speculates: "They pulling out all the tricks because of BF."
Another writes: "Maybe they're actually starting to care about players again for the first time in about 7 years."
It's unclear when the update will be released, although fingers crossed it's before the launch of games like Borderlands 4 and Battlefield 6.
The new update will certainly be available before the launch of Black Ops 7, which actually sounds like it will do something different compared to previous releases.
The co-op campaign features endgame content that sees players team up to tackle "overwhelming odds".
"As you push deeper into the story, you'll master new abilities to deploy in the Campaign's epic Endgame, where you'll reach new levels of power to survive overwhelming odds in a brand-new PvE experience," reads the official description.
"This is the culmination of the Co-Op Campaign, where each Endgame run is a new step in the power journey as your squad is forced to adapt under pressure throughout all of Avalon."
Progression from the campaign also transfers over to Warzone and multiplayer (and vice-versa), meaning you can upgrade weapons and complete player challenges in the story mode.
