Bhopal/Jabalpur: The MP high court has disposed of a petition seeking action against Advocate General (AG) Prashant Singh over allegedly charging a hefty fee from the MP Nursing Registration Council (MPNRC) in connection with the nursing college "scam" case, ansd favouritism in appointment of government advocates in the advocate general's office, after the petitioner withdrew the plea.
During hearing of the case on Monday, the state govt apprised a bench of chief justice Suresh Kumar Kait and justice Vivek Jain that a similar petition was rejected by the high court earlier.
Following this, the petitioner sought to withdraw the petition, which the court allowed.
OBC Advocates' Welfare Association, in its petition, had raised an objection to advocate general charging hefty fee from the MPNRC to appear on its behalf in the nursing college "scam" case and charges of nepotism in appointment of advocates in the AG office.
During hearing of the petition, the judges were told that a similar petition was rejected by the high court as the petitioner had failed to produce any evidence and facts to support his arguments, seeking action against the AG. In this petition also, no supporting evidence has been produced before the court, therefore the petition must be dismissed.
The court, however, said that there are multiple points raised in one petition. There should be separate petitions for each point raised in the petition. Following this, senior counsel Rameshwar P Singh, who appeared for the petitioner organisation, sought to withdraw the petition, which the court allowed.
