Namakkal: More than 700 bulls and as many as 400 bull tamers participated in the jallikattu held at Sendhamangalam in Namakkal district on Friday.
Namakkal Lok Sabha MP V S Madeswaran and Rajya Sabha MP K R N Rajesh Kumar inaugurated the jallikattu, one of the biggest such event in the region. Spectators from across Namakkal as well as neighbouring districts visited Sendhamangalam to watch the event.
The jallikattu concluded without any major injuries to the tamers. The district administration had made elaborate arrangements including setting up of the arena with a gallery, and police had deployed additional personnel for the event.
