Jaipur: After discussions with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma Friday instructed officials to strictly and promptly follow the guidelines issued by the Union govt regarding the cancellation of visas of Pakistani citizens. The CM assured Shah that the state would rigorously adhere to the instructions received concerning the visas of Pakistani citizens.
Following the CM's directive, the ACS of the home department, Anand Kumar, held a meeting with officials at the secretariat Friday.
Ministry of Home Affairs cancelled the SAARC visas issued to Pakistani citizens from Saturday, April 26, and all existing valid visas, except long-term, diplomatic and official visas, from Sunday, April 27, with immediate effect. Medical visas issued to Pakistani citizens will remain valid till April 29, 2025. The expulsion of Pakistani citizens is to be carried out via the Attari border.
The ACS (Home) instructed the SPs concerned and FROs that Pakistani citizens residing in the state on visas other than Long Term Visa (LTV) should be expelled according to the timeline specified in the instructions of Ministry of Home Affairs.
