Jaipur: Scattered rainfall at many places in the state brought respite from the scorching heat conditions Saturday. However, many places in western Rajasthan continued to face intense heat conditions. Barmer remained the hottest in the state, where a maximum temperature of 43.9 °C was recorded.

Several areas across Jaipur, Kota, and Ajmer divisions experienced showers and cooling winds from Saturday morning onwards, providing much-needed relief from the scorching conditions. Cloudy conditions and dust storms were witnessed at many places in Jaipur, Dausa, Jhunjhunu, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Kota, Jhalawar, and Baran districts, where mild to moderate showers were also witnessed.

Attributing the climatic change to the active western disturbances, the Met office said that similar conditions are going to prevail in some parts of the state Sunday.

People in Jaipur woke up to a warmer morning when a minimum temperature of 28.8 °C, almost 4.8 degrees above normal, was recorded. It was followed by a comparatively pleasant afternoon when a maximum temperature of 39.5 °C was recorded. In the afternoon, scattered rainfall was also witnessed for a shorter period in various parts of Jaipur and its outskirts, including Dudu, Bagru, Bassi, Kanota, and Chomu. Following scattered rainfall, the evening was a little pleasant in and around Jaipur. The Met office said that on Sunday, Jaipur is likely to get a partially cloudy sky. A minor rise in the maximum and minimum temperatures is likely on Sunday.

Barmer was followed by Sriganganagar and Jaisalmer, where a maximum temperature of 43.5 °C each was recorded, Dholpur 43.4, Bikaner 43.2, Chittorgarh 42.8, Kota 42.1, Lunkaransar 41.4, Jodhpur and Churu 41.3 °C each, Pilani 40.5, Anta 40.4, Jalore 40.3, Karauli 40.1, and a maximum temperature of 39.8 °C was recorded at Ajmer.

In its forecast, the Met office said that a partially cloudy sky and dust storm are likely at some places in Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, and Bharatpur divisions of the state in the next 24 hours.
