Usman Khan was the aggressor in the stand, smashing 61 off 40 deliveries. Brief contributions from Michael Bracewell (9), Iftikhar Ahmed (10), and Chris Jordan (6* off 5) pushed the total to a competitive score. Among the bowlers, Meredith (1/33), Holder (1/25), and Shadab (1/29) chipped in for United.

In response, Islamabad got off to a brisk start with Sahibzada Farhan hammering 22 off 13 balls before falling early. Gous then took charge, dispatching the bowlers to all parts of the ground. His 45-ball blitz included 5 fours and 4 sixes. Colin Munro added 45 off 28 to keep the pressure on, while Mohammad Nawaz contributed a handy 21.

Multan’s bowlers couldn’t find answers to United’s fluent chase. Gous remained unbeaten as Islamabad finished on 171/3 with 17 balls to spare.

The win adds vital momentum to Islamabad United’s campaign, while Multan Sultans will look to regroup quickly after another missed opportunity.
