And there was no better way to kick off the college career than to have your proud mother cheer for you throughout the game. La La proudly cheered for her son’s first Syracuse milestone.   
   
Kiyan got enrolled in college during the 2025-2026 academic season. Before this, Kiyan was a senior basketball player at Long Island Lutheran High School in New York. He is ranked as one of the top shooting guards in the class of 2025 by ESPN.
