Ullal: A 46-year-old man died after falling from a coconut tree while extracting toddy near Kanneer Thota, close to Kotekar in Ullal, on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Yashodhar, a resident of Nadupolike in Balla, Kanyana.
According to sources, Yashodhar was engaged in toddy tapping near his home when he reportedly lost balance and fell from the tree, sustaining severe injuries. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries on the way.
Yashodhar had been working as a toddy tapper for many years. It is suspected that he may have fainted due to low blood pressure, a condition he had previously experienced, which could have led to the fall.
He is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter. He was said to be the primary breadwinner of the family.
