Rajasthan Weather Update: Heatwave, Dust Storm Alerts Issued for Several Districts

As temperatures soar across Rajasthan, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heatwave and dust storm alerts for multiple districts.

Intense Heat Grips Rajasthan, Yellow and Orange Alerts Issued

On Friday, several parts of Rajasthan witnessed scorching temperatures, with Barmer, Pilani, and Ganganagar recording highs of up to 44°C.
Post noon, cloudy skies were observed over Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Jaipur, and Alwar districts.

The IMD has announced the activation of a new western disturbance starting April 27, prompting:

• Yellow alert for dust storms and rain in 15 districts.

• Orange alert for heatwave conditions across western Rajasthan.

Strong dust-laden winds are expected in various regions during afternoon hours for the next three to four days.

Temperature Highlights and Districts Affected

• Pilani recorded the highest temperature at 44.5°C, followed closely by Barmer at 44.4°C on Friday.

• Other areas experiencing intense heat and heatwave conditions include Ganganagar, Kota, Jaisalmer, Churu, Dholpur, Bikaner, Phalodi, Alwar, and Jaipur.

Weather Forecast: Heat to Persist Until April 30

According to the Jaipur Meteorological Center:

• Intense heat will continue across Rajasthan until April 30.

• Residents in Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, and Barmer have been advised to exercise extra caution due to rising temperatures and frequent dust storms.
